Cut a Rock Guides

Most Cut a Rock questions are about one of six moments: your first session, your first real upgrade, a cutter that will not finish, Power that will not move, an Index that looks empty, or a night away from the game. Each guide below owns one of them.

Guides by player task

I have just started

Read these in order in your first session.

Your first hour
The order that ends with a paid passage instead of a full backpack and no cash.
Money and upgrade order
Which upgrade pays back first, and when a pickaxe beats a machine.

Something in the loop is not working

Both guides start from the symptom.

I am spending Robux or chasing Power

Prices and requirements first, judgement second.
